Review of the UV Index

Presentations from this workshop are available here.

The aim of this pre-conference workshop is to provide a forum to consider the current public health guidance provided by the Global Solar UV Index. Please see the current agenda attached.

Within this context, the evidence around the efficacy of sun protective measures as currently recommended by WHO and the safety of the cut-off (UV index <3) of when sun protection is no longer required will be explored along with the impact of the UV Index to motivate behaviour change.

The workshop is a joint co-operation of the World Health Organization (WHO), the International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection (ICNIRP), Cancer Council Victoria and the Australian Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Agency (ARPANSA).

Lunch and afternoon tea will be provided.
