Biography

Connecting basic science with primary and secondary prevention. New, sophisticated methods in molecular biology offer the opportunity to find sensitive biomarkers for risk assessment, development and progression of skin cancer.

Love the sun and protect your skin.

Dr. Rüdiger Greinert is a Biophysicist and Head of  the Science and Study Center, Elbekliniken Stade /Buxtehude (FSE), Head of Dept. Mol. Cellbiology.

His main interests include epigenetics of photocarcinogenesis, miRNAs as biomarkers for skin cancer development and progression; primary and secondary prevention of skin cancer; and development, implementation and evaluation of German Skin Cancer Screening.

Dr. Greinert is a member of several working groups of the German Commission on Radiological Protection. He worked and works in several expert (IARC, EC) groups dealing with health risks (skin cancer) connected to natural and artificial UV radiation.
