Professor Michael G Kimlin

Professor Michael Kimlin, Foundation Chair in Cancer Prevention, is jointly based at the Cancer Council Queensland and the University of the Sunshine Coast.  After a five-year period working at the University of Georgia in the USA, he established the AusSun Research Lab at Queensland University of Technology in 2004, followed by the Centre for Research Excellence in Sun and Health (CRESH), after being awarded NHMRC funding in 2010.

During his 11 years at QUT he added the titles of Cancer Council Queensland Professorial Chair in Cancer Prevention, and Director of Research, QUT School of Public Health to his academic profile; moving to his current role in 2015.  He has most recently been awarded the inaugural position of Executive Director at the University of the Sunshine Coast’s newly formed Health Research Institute.
